The very awesome Michael Thomas celebrated his birthday with wings, a birthday margarita, Lyle, and Bombers Burrito Bar!  Happy birthday, Michael!

You may recognize Bombers’ Morrison (far right) from hosting Trivia Night and the annual Bombers Spelling Bee.  His girlfriend, Elizabeth, recently celebrated her 21st birthday with Morrison and maybe 50 (?) of her friends at Bombers Burrito Bar.

Shanna Dutcher celebrated birthday 27 at Bombers Burrito Bar with some of her friends: Whitney, Courtney, Alex, Tara, Kim, Brian, and Jess.  Judging by the empty giant birthday margarita cup, Shanna had a good time.

Once the cup was empty, Shanna and Whitney revealed a “best friend crush” they have on Bombers owner, Matt Baumgartner.  (Secret: spending lots and lots of money (or whatever you have) at his bars is the way to his heart — or at least to his Myspace top 8.)

When we asked Courtney what was better than turning 25 and celebrating with her best looking friends Damien, Brynn and Jennifer, she told us being at Bombers was the best thing that could happen to her.  We think she’s right.  Happy birthday, Courtney!

The very lovely Bobbi shared her birthday margarita at Bombers Burrito Bar with her very lovely friend, Lindsay.  Happy birthday, Bobbi!

Albany Bombers’ kitchen manager, Conor, shows off his new kitchen and a handful of his hardworking coworkers.  Schenectady Bombers’ kitchen manager, Alicia, is the one in the cardigan clashing with everything around her.  It was sort of a 1999 throwback night with Alicia in the Albany Bombers kitchen, as she guest starred in the reopening of the renovated Bombers in Albany.  A big Bombers thank you to everyone who worked so hard in getting Bombers reopened on time!  PS – those vegan brownies and cookies you now sell are just scrumptious!

Angela was one of the first people to celebrate a birthday at the recently renovated Bombers in Albany.  She was joined by her friends Arielle, Jessica, Amy, and Erin.  Happy birthday, Angela!

The renovations are complete!  Albany Bombers (258 Lark) will reopen at 11 am on Thursday, January 28.  We don’t want to spoil any surprises, but you can expect a new bar, kitchen, and bathroom (we’re not telling you which bathroom is new).  Be sure to look for some yummy additions to the menu as well.  So come in and say hello.  Please.  We’ve missed you like a starving village misses bread.  xo.

This video was created by new Bombers friend Matt Murnane, a journalism student at SUNY Albany.  Matt was one of the very polite students to ask Bombers owner, Matt Baumgartner, questions during an appearance he made at his journalism class.  Matt Baumgartner discussed blogging and answered at least one question about his relationship status.  We’re super impressed with Matt Murnane’s video and assume he must have scored a super awesome grade (or free liter of beer).  From Matt Murnane…

Wolff’s Biergarten was one of the best places to do a project on the spirit of Albany. Off the beaten path of more crowded (and probably underage), bars like the ones Pearl Street has to offer, it’s not hard to see why people seem to pour into the Biergarten early in the morning, with a constant flow in patrons until closing time. Whether it’s the boot, the (real, not plastic), dartboards, the self serve food, or the beer, the people Wolff’s attract are just as awesome as the staff. While conducting the project I not only learned how to improve my photography, but I learned even more about beer, (try the Avatinus, it’s high in alcohol, and even higher in taste), and about all the work it takes to running a biergarten. I’ve already got a few of my friends hooked on it, now if I can just convince them to join a dart league…

Bombers has a few specials going on at both Bombers restaurants during Super Bowl Sunday, February 7, 2010, after 4pm.  First, if you have ever experienced Bombers’ famous wings, you know what a good deal $9.99 is for an all-you-can-eat Bombers wing buffet.  The very popular aluminum bottles of Bud Lights will be only $2.50 and finally, a bucket of 5 Bud Light in aluminum bottles is only $10!  So for only $20 you have all the amazing Bombers wings you can eat and 5 bottles of Bud Lights to drink for energy.  Sounds like a cheap and super fun Super Bowl Party to us.  Beer, wings and football.  We like putting the super in Super Bowl.
